Hello, gentle readers and viewers. I hope this Sunday is treating you well. Thank you for being here.
A coworker and I had the wonderful opportunity to have a young student job shadow us this week. I am always surprised and honored to know that someone from the next generation is interested in my chosen career path—being creative and making a living doing that.
It’s always a pleasure, but this time, because I’ve learned it myself, I gave one bit of warning. Always protect your heart and leave a space to be wonderfully, beautifully, and imperfectly unrestricted in your creativity.
The experience was also a wonderful distraction from a hard week.
I decided for myself, the young student, and all the gentle readers and viewers to go through my sketchbook archives from this year and post anything and everything I thought was wonderfully, beautifully, imperfectly unrestricted—things that made me smile, things I misspelled, stuff I forgot, and things that made me feel like a human being.
I made it to March, so there will most likely be more to come, but I hope this helps in some small way. Focus on those butterflies, and thank you.
Take care of yourselves, seek inspiration, draw slowly, have fun, and stay gentle.
Also, I always get a notification when I create longer posts that they’re too long for emails. I don’t entirely know what that means, but there should be 23 drawings here. You may have to read this on the App if you don’t see that amount in your email.
That buffalo card is brilliant
You always make me smile, what is with corndogs?!? I've never had one so i don't know but they are taking on a magical quality seeing how often you draw them ;)
