Hello, gentle readers and viewers. I hope this Sunday is treating you well. Thank you for being here.
I guess it shouldn’t surprise you with all my talk of moving large dirt piles throughout the yard that a bout of back pain was headed my way. While incapacitated, I found myself watching various art-related shows. Carrie and Harp were also in New York City and visiting The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Carrie would occasionally send photos of some of the incredible paintings housed there, and I found myself viewing these masterpieces from a particular viewpoint. So here we are. I had a good time.
I’ve linked the actual works of art alongside each drawing. They are all from the Google Arts and Culture website, which, to me, is a wonderfully bright spot of comfort and delight on the internet.
Take care of yourselves, seek inspiration, draw slowly, have fun, and stay gentle.
The Water-Lily Pond- Claude Monet
Little Girl in a Blue Armchair- Mary Cassatt
Portrait of the Artist’s Mother- James Abbot McNeill Whistler
Venus and Satyr- Sebastiano Ricci
This is so delightful, I especially love the romanticism and rococo ones 😂❤️
Hilarious! Multiple chuckles thank you!
